Vibrations: Featured Exhibition of Chinese Ceramics Association Taiwan
Chinese Ceramics Association Taiwan was founded in 1992 to connect outstanding ceramic artists across Taiwan and promote the international exchange of ceramics culture. An exhibition of members’ works is held annually. The current exhibition focuses on sound to highlight the charm unique to ceramic art.
Sounds are vibrations traveling through a medium that are perceived by our auditory system. Throughout history, people have been using a vast range of materials that produce sound in their creations. For this exhibition, members of the Association are using clay as the acoustic medium to convey nature sounds like wind, rain, and waves, directly perceived animal and insect sounds, and inner voices of happiness, anger, sadness, joy, in a visible form to viewers. With the originality of artists who are veterans and up-and-comers, the uniqueness of sound is presented through ingenious artistry, in a charming symphony.
