The 5th International Coffee Cup Competition

Everyday morning begins with a cup of coffee, opening the whole day. From brewing to sipping, this small personal ritual draws our attention to the shape, weight and warmth of the coffee cup in our hands. Coffee is not defined by flavor alone; the cup we hold subtly shapes the way we experience and perceive it.

From the perspective of everyday aesthetics, New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum organizes the International Coffee Cup Competition, inviting creators from around the world to tell their cultural stories through a single coffee cup. The 5th International Coffee Cup Competition attracted 256 creators from 38 countries, setting a record for participation. Drawing upon local landscapes, lived memories, and creative imagination, participants infused these elements into coffee cups—objects modest in scale yet deeply embedded in everyday life.

A jury composed of ceramic artists and professionals specializing in craft and vessel design conducted a two-stage evaluation based on the criteria of design aesthetics, utilitarian value and creative concept, ultimately selecting 39 ceramic works from 18 countries for exhibition at the museum. As audiences encounter the beauty of art and design, they are also invited to experience the rich diversity of coffee culture from around the world.

Venue: Sunlight Front Hall, 1st floor of New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum
